ABOUT FLOWLOCK

As a company backed by the experience and expertise of Bramac, we provide innovative well liner and water cistern solutions designed to increase water storage capacity and improve long-term water security.

HOW IT WORKS

FlowLock well liners are installed inside your existing dug well to create a clean, protected water reservoir. Your well continues to collect groundwater naturally just as it always has, while also providing the option to be refilled by a licensed water hauler whenever additional water is needed. The result is a reliable, consistent water supply and added peace of mind for your home.

Our liners come in a standard 24" diameter, and can also be custom-made in 20" and 18" diameters to suit different well sizes and installations.

BENEFITS OF FLOWLOCK

Compared to drilling a new well, which comes with uncertainty in water yield and no guarantee of finding a better source, this system improves what you already have without the risk of starting over. It allows the natural aquifer to continue rising and functioning as a normal well, while also creating a controlled storage space that retains 100% of any water added to the system. It is also more practical and cost-effective than rainwater harvesting systems, which are limited by seasonal conditions and storage capacity. Unlike constantly paying for water deliveries where the water is immediately used and often lost to the dry ground, this system keeps that water stored and usable inside the well instead of being wasted.

While it is designed as a long-term, permanent solution for water reliability and security, the liners are also removable if future servicing or changes are ever required. The result is greater control, improved consistency, and a more dependable water supply overall.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1. What is a FlowLock well liner?

A FlowLock well liner is a structural insert installed inside an existing dug well to create a clean, controlled water storage reservoir while still allowing natural groundwater (aquifer) to enter the well as normal.

2. Is this a tested or proven product?

This is a patent-pending system currently in real-world field use, with one installed system operating successfully. It continues to perform as designed, providing valuable feedback for ongoing refinement and development.

3. How much does a well liner cost?

Our FlowLock well liners currently start at $3,918 + HST for the smallest size. This price does not include shipping or installation.

As FlowLock is currently in the prototype phase, we require a minimum of 10 committed customers to maintain this introductory pricing. If we are unable to secure 10 participants, pricing may increase. In that case, all interested customers will be contacted before proceeding. The smallest liner could increase to approximately $5,777 + HST.

There are also funding options available that may help offset the cost of water security projects. Several Nova Scotia municipalities offer low-interest financing programs for water cisterns and related water infrastructure, with some loans available at rates as low as 2% interest. We encourage customers to check the funding resources listed on our website to see what programs may be available in their area.

In addition, the Province of Nova Scotia recently announced approximately $6.3 million in funding through its Water Resilience initiative, which supports projects such as community water storage, backup water systems, cisterns, and other drought-resilience measures. Eligibility and program details vary, so we recommend reviewing available funding opportunities through your municipality and provincial programs.

For more information, please visit our website or contact our office during regular business hours. We're happy to answer any questions and help determine if FlowLock is the right solution for your property.

4. Will my well still function normally?
Yes! Your well continues to operate as it always has by collecting natural groundwater. The liner simply improves how water is stored and managed inside the existing well system.

5. Does the system still allow natural groundwater flow?

Yes! The design allows the natural aquifer to continue feeding the well normally, ensuring it functions as a standard dug well while also adding controlled storage capacity.

6.  What happens if my water level gets low?

The system can be topped up with hauled water when needed, providing additional security during dry periods or times of high demand. This water is 100% retained and not lost to the surrounding dry ground.

7. Is it cheaper than drilling a well?

In many cases, yes — especially when you factor in the cost of drilling and the possibility of not getting any water. This system improves the well you already have without the risk of starting over. It enhances reliability while avoiding the guesswork of new drilling.

8. Is this a permanent system?

It is designed as a long-term solution to improve water reliability and storage, but the liner system is also removable if future servicing, upgrades, or changes are ever required.

9. Is financing available?

Yes. Bramac offers financing options, and some municipalities — like Yarmouth — offer very low-interest loan programs for cistern and rainwater system installations that can be taken out for upwards of 10-15 years. â€‹
